Australia's Environmental Choice Label

Verosol Australia Pty Ltd has set the benchmark for the blind industry by achieving accreditation under the Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) programme. It is the only recognised ecolabel system in Australia and Verosol is the only supplier to the Blind industry with this prestigious ‘green’ tick.

The Australian Ecolabel Program is the national environmental product life-cycle ecolabelling program for Australia. The objectives of the program are to:

  • Provide market incentives for suppliers to reduce the environmental impacts of products sold in Australia;
  • Provide a clear, credible, and independent guide to consumers wishing to take account of environmental factors in their purchasing decisions;
  • Encourage consumers to purchase products which have lower environmental impacts;
  • Recognise genuine moves by companies to reduce the adverse environmental impacts of their products;
  • Aim ultimately to improve the quality of the environment and to encourage sustainable management of resources.

Good Environmental Choice Australia and Good Environmental Choice Services manage the Australian Ecolabel Program in partnership, and are independent organisations recognised as the Australian members of an international network of ecolabelling schemes. The organisation is a non-profit organisation with management representation from Australian industry, environmental organisations, scientific and technical professionals and a wide spectrum of stakeholders.

The Ecolabel is awarded to those products that meet or exceed voluntary standards of environmental performance.
